Have Smartthings Trigger an Alexa Routine

I would like to use a Smartthings routine to trigger an Alexa routine.

Is this possible?

I was previously using virtual switches, but had some consistency issues with a few of my virtual switches working with/triggering Alexa and switched them over to @TAustin’s Alexa Multi-Trigger instead and haven’t had any issues since. Perhaps @TAustin’s Alexa Multi-Trigger will work for you as well:

As @JKnight suggested, either the vEdge Creator driver or the Alexa Multi-trigger driver allow you to create virtual devices that support a contact sensor which is one of the few SmartHome devices that can trigger Alexa routines. If you don’t have a hub to install an Edge driver, you can create virtual devices using the ST Advanced Web App. Presence sensors, contact sensors, motion sensors, door locks, some light switches are able to trigger Alexa routines.

There’s an FAQ for that. It’s one of the most popular SmartThings use cases. :sunglasses:

FAQ: Can I trigger an Echo Action without Speaking to It?

The edge driver solutions that were mentioned are covered in the FAQ, as well as some options that do not require you to have a SmartThings/aeotec hub.
