Gledopto Zigbee RGB controller

Sorry for the delayed response. The fix we discussed is in the next firmware and we’re starting a customer beta for that firmware soon. See here for more info: Hub Firmware 25.x Beta. I will look into adding something about this to the release notes since it doesn’t appear to be mentioned currently.

Here is a detailed guide on how to connect the Gledopto products to SmartThings: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gledopto/comments/ahkva0/how_do_gledopto_products_work_with_smartthings/

Those instructions will only work for people who happened to be on the same shard as the author.

The fix for the Gledopto products are now live in the v000.025.00015 beta version!

Yes, I was able to add my device now and it is working great with the Beta. The only change I needed to make was to change it from a dimmer, to a RGB light that changes colour, which I did at http://graph.api.smartthings.com/.

Different people are on different cloud “shards,” so that link will only work for some accounts.

Instead, use https://account.smartthings.com and you will automatically be directed to the correct shard for your account. :sunglasses:

Can you do me a favor? Going to the account settings and then to my devices and to your controller. I’d be really curious to see what is listed under model, manufacture, and product ID in the raw description.

Model GL-C-008

Manufacturer GLEDOPTO

endpoint ID 0C

Here from a RGB-CCT controller:

Data * application: 01

  • endpointId: 0B
  • manufacturer: GLEDOPTO
  • model: GLEDOPTO

And from the CW/WW ctrlr:

PS How can one see the firmware version of Gledopto?

You don’t have a manufacturer or product ID or firmware version listed in the raw description anywhere? For example I’m using a RGBgenie controller and I get this from the raw description:

zw:Ls type:1101 mfr:0330 prod:0201 model:D002 ver:1.03 zwv:4.61 lib:03 cc:5E,55,6C,98,9F sec:72,86,26,33,2B,2C,71,70,85,59,73,5A,7A role:05 ff:8600 ui:8600

(This is the Z-Wave version of their controller, hence the zwv which I’m assuming is Z-Wave version)

No, this is all there is…

That’s for the 2 Gledopto controllers I have. A Tradfri bulb is better documented.

I just received the 2ID version which pairs as a Thing on the beta hub firmware and I set it to the ZLL RGBW bulb which enables both color and white leds, but the on/off control only controls the color leds. No way to turn off the white leds. I realize this new controller is brand new but wondering if anyone has figure it out. Thanks

Any timeline on when this v25 firmware will be released to public?

My understanding is that the 2ID RGBW should show up as 2 Things, and you can control RGB and White individually. It’s possible that ST can only see one of the SSIDs (read that somewhere), so with this hub, only RGB will work.

I assume this setup will draw more power when both RGB and W are on, so the max length of the strip that can be controlled would be shorter.

So I’m trying to figure out what controller and strips to buy for the deck. It sounds like an RGBW strip should be used with a RGBW controller and a RGB WW and CW should be used with a RGB+CCT controller?

What happens when you hook up a RGBW strip to a RGB+CCT controller? Can you still dim the white color properly?

PS. The v25 firmware is out. Can someone confirm it fixes the issues with the controller not pairing?

So that was my understanding, the 2ID would pair as 2 lights. Never saw that happen but you can sort of control the whites. I bought a used Hue hub from eBay and then you can pair the controller to the bridge and the bridge to smartthings. Now I can properly control both lights. Gledopto folks weren’t any help with the 2ID and smartthings.

I have a rgbcct strip, but with the rgbcct controller, the only control was temperature, not dimming. That was my issue, the rgb LEDs would turn off, but no way to turn off the whites. And on the 1ID controller you can control both, just not at the same time.

Thanks! Any way to tell which version is being sold on eBay (from pics or packaging)? I’ve only seen the version mentioned on AliExpress, but I don’t think I want to wait 2 months for shipping …I’m looking at this one.

I would not go by whatever is in his description, just ask him. I ordered from Gledopto Aliexpress store 1/27 and it was delivered 2/7. Not too bad and at the time, they were the only store offering the 2ID version.

I wouldn’t mix strips and controller though. Part of the reason is the pairing works with v25, but it still pairs as a Thing and you assign it to an RGBW bulb. Although I think I paired it to my Echo show to see if it would appear as 2 bulbs but it did not. At least it was discovered as a bulb
