Gen 3 Smartthings Z-wave dsk showing all 0's and functional false

I recently purchased two SmartThings 2018 hubs. Both of them are displaying a functional false status for the Z-Wave. Is this a known issue? If so, how can I resolve it? I’ve tried resetting the devices multiple times, but nothing seems to work.

I noticed an old chat from 2016 where someone mentioned that they could potentially turn the Z-Wave module on and off. However, that functionality doesn’t seem to be available anymore in 2025. Could you please provide some suggestions on what I can try?

Additionally, I’m wondering if I can use the SmartThings CLI to perform any actions.

This is the process I used to link the hub to my phone. I reset the hub when it alternates orange/green. I start the pairing process with my iPhone. I did this process on both Ethernet and wifi. Then the device downloads latest firmware. After install happens and then I can see my hub on my network. When I go look at my hub on the app and click information I get the following:

Firmware version: 000.056.00011

Z-Wave DSK
00000-00000-00000-00000
00000-00000-00000-00000

Matter SDK version: 1.4-0

Thread network: ST-3011134888

Controller version (1.0.33-9)

Firmware version of the hubs? Any error codes when adding the hubs to the app?

Thank you, I am sorry I missed that info. I reset the hub when it alternates orange/green. I start the pairing process with my iPhone. I did connected on both Ethernet and wifi. I have spoke with a couple other people who have these hubs and when they reset the hub the z-wave dsk also dropped out.

Did you have a look at the AWA?

Have you tried to add a Z-Wave device? Maybe the Z-Wave DSK is empty until a device is added.

I tried to both add and exclude a zwave device. Nothing worked. While adding a zigbee device did work.

Also yes this is false. zwaveRequiresExternalHardware: false

I’d contact the Aeotec support.

Interesting side note: my Z-Wave firmware version is 6.10.

Did you buy your hubs used or new?

I bought a used V3 Smarthings which is made by Samsung. My Smartthings V2 is also running z-wave 6.10

There has to be something wrong going on with the firmware update. Is there a way to flash an older version? then a newer version?
