GE Z-Wave Wireless Lighting Control Lamp Module turning itself off

Hi folks -

I have GE Z-Wave Wireless Lighting Control Lamp Module connected to three, tower, high intensity floor lamps. It’s been working great for a year…

2 weeks ago I unplugged the controller and lamps to paint the room. When I put it back, the behavior of the GE lighting controller changed. Now, when it comes on at 100%, whether manually or by the SmartThings app, it will turn itself off after a second or two. If I set the dimming to anything under 100% (even 99%) the light stays on…

Can these controllers get damaged? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Any electrical device can go bad.

This problem may indicate an overloaded circuit, a loose neutral, a bad connection, or the device going bad.

Paint may have gotten into one of the outlets on the circuit and you’re getting a short or a poor connection. Or a connection may have been knocked loose.

I would try the module in another room on another circuit. Use a GFCI receptacle. If you see the same dimmer behaviour, the module’s likely going bad. If you don’t, have an electrician check the first circuit.

Thanks jd - much appreciated.

I’ll try it this weekend in in different combinations of outlets and lamps and see if I can see a pattern.
