GE Z-wave Dimmer Switch Blown by New Light Bulbs

So I have about 7 GE zwave dimmer switches throughout my house. I’ve been using them for the past year without any problem… Until a 35w-40w lightbulb on our dining room chandelier went out. We bought some new bulbs and immediately after replacing the bulb and attempting to turn on the chandelier the dimmer switch went dead (i.e., won’t turn on the lights when manually pressed and smartthings can’t find it either.) I replaced the switch with an extra zwave dimmer I had laying around and took out the new bulb. Everything worked again. Then went to put the new bulb in. Dead again.

What could be causing this?? I have the switch connected to neutral but not ground. Chandelier takes 8 incandescent “decorative” bulbs.
