GE Link Bulb and an Old Socket

I’ve installed, configured, and am happy with the 7 GE Link A19 bulbs. They’re in the front and back entrances, the garage, the hall, and the front room. I want one in my storage area but I have rather a unique problem that I can’t seem to fix.

The current naked socket has a CFL in it, with a pull switch. Using the switch will power on the CFL, and using it again will turn it off.

When I place the GE Link bulb in and pull the switch, I get nothing. No power to the light. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Most likely the little tab inside the socket is not making contact. With the circuit breaker off. pull the tab out a little with a plier.
