I really wish the ZSMOKE and ZCOMO would both just work hardwired to trigger interop with existing systems (US). I may crack one open and see if I can add/clone/DIY 120VAC and interop power to one or both.
Even if thatās possible, itās probably not a great idea.
If there is ever a fire in your home, and fire department or insurance investigators determine that someone converted a battery-operated smoke detector to run on 120V AC, I think they could use that information as a basis to deny any homeownerās insurance claims you would make.
iām not thinking convert⦠I 'm thinking augment. F/A already makes smokes that are 120 with a battery in them, the Zcombo
Iām not sure if the exact terminology matters. If you tamper with a smoke detectorās power supply in some way, and thereās a fire in your house, fire and/or insurance investigators are unlikely to look favorably upon that.
Thatās just my opinion though. Good luck.
ZCombo is Smoke/CO2, not 120v/battery. It is a battery powered device only.
Understood, but I bet it shares a ton in common with wired onesā¦

Even if they share a PCB with common solder points, you will not get it to power via 120V without additional hardware, and will definitely not ever get it to magically interconnect.
I know this thread hasnāt been updated in a while but Iām hoping someone who has these can answer a question as I am thinking about picking some of these up.
Can I silence a false alarm from the ST app?
Thanks!
Nope, at least when I last had mine.
