Fibaro 223: Second switch "checking"

Hi all,

I have installed a fibaro double switch 223. Installation went fine. The first switch also works fine.

But the second one stays on “checking”. The 2nd switch does not respond to anything. Have used different handlers.

Does anyone know a way to solve this?

@Mariano_Colmenarejo , can you help him out? Another poor guy like us

Switch 1 and 2 are paired in the same procedure. The 1 as a parent and the 2 as a child.
The 1 is installed automatically with the DTH “Fibaro Double Switch 2 ZW5”
The 2 is installed automatically with the DTH “Fibaro Double Switch 2 - USB”
I would do a double switch exclusion:

To remove the device from the Z-Wave network:

  1. Place the Switch 2 within the direct range of your Z-Wave controller.
  2. Identify the S1 switch.
  3. Set the main controller in remove mode (see the controller’s
    Handbook).
  4. Quickly, three times press the S1 switch.
  5. Wait for the removing process to end.
  6. Successful removing will be confirmed by the Z-Wave controller’s
    message.

You can also reset the double switch before pairing it again:
Resetting the Switch 2:

  1. Switch off the mains voltage (disable the fuse).
  2. Remove the Switch 2 from the wall switch box.
  3. Switch on the mains voltage.
  4. Press and hold the B-button to enter the menu.
  5. Wait for the visual LED indicator to glow yellow.
  6. Quickly release and click the B-button again.
  7. After a few seconds the device will be restarted, which is signalled
with the red LED indicator color.

I would pair it again following the instructions in the manual:
To add the device to the Z-Wave network:

  1. Place the Switch 2 within the direct range of your Z-Wave controller.
  2. Identify the S1 switch.
  3. Set the main controller in (security / non-security) add mode (see
    the controller’s manual).
  4. Quickly, three times press the S1 switch.
  5. Wait for the adding process to end.
  6. Successful adding will be confirmed by the Z-Wave controller’s
    message

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, the step-by-step plan I received did not work.

As a last attempt I went to a friend of mine. He has a Fibaro home center. Through this home center I updated the 223 (have 3 of them) to version 3.4 (was 3.3)

then linked to the smartthings. The default handler was loaded and everything worked properly

apparently this is a firmware issue.
