FAQ: Amazon Smart Plug and SmartThings?

Is the Amazon Smart Plug compatible with SmartThings? I’m trying to connect it to my SmartThings hub, and the app doesn’t seem to see it. There is no “Amazon Smart Plug” option listed under Outlets. My Echo finds it and controls it just fine. I’m using the latest SmartThings app and the v2 hub.

It’s a Wi-Fi plug— there is no direct integration with SmartThings.

What you could do is create a virtual contact sensor with switch capabilities and then use that to turn the Amazon plug on and off via an Amazon routine. It’s a little kludgy, but it should work.

Any one know of any smart plugs that work with Smartthings that are the right price today cyber Monday???

Cheers

“The right price” means different things to different people. Check the Black Friday deals thread, it has cyber Monday posts as well:

Hopefully, someone will create a device config soon…

I just wanted to bump this thread and see if anyone has created a DTH for the amazon plugs yet.

There is currently a sale on them for 4.99 that ends on the 31st 2018

Thanks in advance!

My post number two above is still current. You can integrate them, but you have to use an Amazon routine as a “man in the middle.” No DTH yet.
