I have 4 smokedetectors (Frient). When the sirene of one of them goes off all the others also go off. So it is important that the detectors always are online since it is SmartThings that starts this. One of the detectors is to far from the Hub, so I installed an Aeotec extender. All the detectors use this extender, even these that are close to the Hub. This works well, but sometimes the extender goes offline which causes the smokedetectors to also go offline. Is there a way to receive a notification when the extender goes offline?
You need more AC powered Zigbee devices in your home.
IKEA smart plugs are great and very affordable.
Can I be sure when I add an extender the smoke detectors will make the connection with another extender when one goes offline? Now, when my extender did go offline, the detectors didn’t make the connection with the Hub, even when they were very close to the Hub.
That’s why I want to know when the extender goes offline…
