We have an important update to share about Sengled and Wemo devices in the Works with SmartThings (WWST) program.
What’s Changing:
Starting August 25th 2025 for Sengled and Jan 31, 2026 for Wemo, Sengled and Wemo devices will no longer carry the Works with SmartThings (WWST) certification.
This means:
-
Existing Wemo and Zigbee Connected Sengled devices already connected to SmartThings may continue working as they do today.
-
Any Sengled Wifi devices will no longer connect to the SmartThings Platform
-
After 1/31/2026 any existing and connected Wemo devices will continue to work. However, factory resetting the device or changing its wifi settings will prevent the device from rejoining SmartThings. This is due to Wemo shutting down their cloud support.
-
SmartThings will no longer officially test, certify, or support these devices under WWST.
What This Means for You:
| Your Scenario | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| If you already use Zigbee Sengled or Wemo devices | They may continue working with SmartThings, but we can’t guarantee long-term compatibility or support. |
| If you need support | SmartThings Support will have limited ability to troubleshoot Sengled or Wemo devices. |
What You Can Do:
If you’re a Sengled or Wemo user today:
-
No immediate action is required — though existing cloud connected Sengled devices are no longer functioning and will not going forward. Other devices may continue to work as they do now.
-
Keep in mind that future updates or platform changes may impact functionality.
-
For the best experience, explore our ecosystem of actively supported Works with SmartThings partners, which ensures ongoing compatibility and support.

For support, please contact us in the SmartThings App or at support.SmartThings.com.
Why This Change:
Our goal for the WWST program is to ensure SmartThings users have the most reliable, tested, and supported experiences possible. As our ecosystem evolves, we occasionally retire certifications when partners no longer meet WWST requirements.
