Error - freezewash not working

Hello,

I’m writing to report an issue with the Freeze Wash function on my Samsung air conditioner, managed via the SmartThings app.

System configuration:

  • Outdoor unit: AJ080TXJ4KG/EU (4-port multi-split)
  • Indoor units connected: 2x AR70F12C1AWNEU + 2x AR70F09C1AWNEU (4 indoor units total, all ports in use)

Problem details:

  • The FreezeWash button/option is greyed out and cannot be selected, both from the SmartThings app and from the physical remote control.
  • I have verified that ALL 4 indoor units are switched off at the same time, as required by official Samsung documentation, but the issue persists.
  • Other functions (temperature, fan speed, mode) work correctly from the app on the same units, so Wi-Fi connectivity does not appear to be the issue.
  • I have already tried: restarting the app, clearing the cache, restarting my phone, and power-cycling the whole system from the electrical panel.

I’d like to note that a similar issue is already known and documented on other official Samsung forums (e.g. community.smartthings.com, thread “Samsung heat pump freeze wash”), where a Samsung moderator confirmed it could be a SmartThings software logic bug related to incorrectly detecting indoor unit status in multi-split configurations, and stated that the case had been escalated to the SmartThings development team for review. In my case, unlike the one reported in that thread, all ports on the outdoor unit are occupied (4 out of 4), so this may be a variant of the same unit-status detection issue.

Could you please:

  1. Check whether my case can be linked to the existing escalation already open with the SmartThings development team regarding this bug;
  2. Provide an update on the expected timeline for a fix.

I’m happy to provide app screenshots or any further technical details if needed.

Thank you and kind regards
