Entering Time as AM/PM and not 24 Hour Format?

I’m new to SmartApps development and I’m trying to create a preference input which allows the user to enter a time. From the examples I’ve found it seems that time is always entered in 24-Hour format (e.g…, 14:30) rather than the 12-Hour format (e.g., 2:30 pm). Question: Is there a way to have the SmartApp accept 12-Hour format with am/pm for a time input?

Hi Dave,

I can’t tell you how to do it but I can confirm for you that it is possible. SmartLights uses a 12 hour format in it’s inputs. I’m sure someone with development experience will see your post and point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your comments. I just noticed that when I select my custom app on my Android smartphone it does indeed display a time selector dialog box like the SmartLights app. I was confused when I ran my app through the IDE Simulator and only saw a text input box for the time entry. So, I’ve learned now that I should not rely on the Simulator too much and test out my custom apps on my smartphone device!
