Enhancement suggestion : virtual rooms

Simple suggestion. Virtual rooms or the ability to have a device in multiple rooms. For example a thermometer room that shows all the temperatures in every room while still keeping the thermometers in their original room. I know you can have favourites on the home screen but this would be easier to manage, and I could have multiple virtual rooms.

Instead of “virtual rooms” we can call this “dashboards” or “views”.

Would be nice if we have the ability to create different “views” associated with different users, for example.

Yes views is maybe a better name. Could be a mixture of things you read like thermometers or motion sensors or a view for control only, eg a view for heating controls in multiple rooms

I recommend reporting this to SmartThings Customer Support**, as they have the ability to escalate this issue to the appropriate engineering team if needed.

To contact them, follow these steps:

  1. Open the SmartThings app
  2. Go to the menu tab (bottom-right corner)
  3. Tap Contact us
  4. Select Error reports
  5. Choose the topic related to your issue and follow the prompts to submit your request

Even though it’s a usability enhancement suggestion and not an error, I still recommend reporting it to SmartThings Customer Support, as they have the ability to escalate this type of feedback to the appropriate internal teams.

There are no Customer Support agents on this channel, so submitting it through the official support process will ensure it reaches the right people.
