Those are all very good points. Getting temp reading should be possible in some form.
How was your experience with replacing the floor probes, was it difficult job to remove the old ones and replace them with Heatit sensors? Is there any chance my old sensor probes under the floor would work with Heatit unit?
curious if anyone knows of a zigbee version controller like this or wifi? about to get these installed in my home and would love it to work with smartthings. I just can’t use the z wave module yet as i’m in Australia
I spoke to them and you can use nest to control it (it’s just on or off) so looks like thats fine - but the issue is you’d lose the following functionality:
50% capacity running (the thermostat it comes with does that)
Floor sensor temp will be lost.
THey say you can just tap into the thermostat with wiring to control on and off though. but seems it would get messy.
Apart from the smartphone controlled devices, they do other Z wave thermostats. No experience personally though I’m afraid, but I had questions on a conventional unit and they answered promptly.
Note: I was mistakenly responding as it turns out to a September post - so please ignore if totally irrelevant.
