[EDGE DEVICE] Simple Harmony Bridge **Alpha Testing**

I have found that the harmony hubs regularly disconnect from my WiFi mesh which occasionally causes offline to be reported within ST. I need to reboot the harmony hub(s) for an immediate fix but mostly, if left to thier own devices, they reconnect and so show again in ST.

Endless fiddling with the mesh node and harmony hub placement/configuration has failed to address this so I just live with it… :man_shrugging:t3:

Yeah I suspect this is what’s happening. It’s losing connection to the router and is messing things.

I’m fairly certain though that before connecting up this edge driver, I wouldn’t get the whole freezing up thing and then unfreezing and instantly going through all the button presses I did when it started freezing.

I have always had the hubs disconnecting from wifi but it would just stop working, red led on the harmony hub, it never got to a point when it would freeze up and start going haywire.

Also, why oh why didn’t harmony not add an Ethernet port on these. :frowning:

Just in case anybody missed it. Logitech/Harmony finally fixed the ST integration. I had to re-login and re-load all my ST devices on my Harmony Elite but once that completed everything works again like it did.

All my Harmony Activities just went offline. Can’t seem to get them back. Anyone else having problems? Rebooted my hub but they are still offline.

NM, I power cycled my hub (not just a reboot) and they are all back online…wew…

Awesome news. I just happened to see a post about this on Reddit today and can confirm it works again! Who says procrastinating on a workaround can’t pay off?

Now if I can only remember what cool stuff I had integrated before it all broke.

I was very excited about this news, but I’m unable to see the smartthings integration in the Harmony app, I’m missing something?

I think you probably already have Smartthings installed and it’s under your list of existing devices. From there, I needed to unlink and relink the ST account to get a full list synced devices.

Nop, I do not, I think I unlink it years ago when it became non functional.

Interesting. I also didn’t see ST when I try to add a new device but I assume it was because mine is already set up. Now I wonder if that’s true. I won’t be testing that theory any time soon… I don’t want to lose my integration.

However, I noticed you have less options under Home Control than I do regardless. Maybe you need to update your Harmony app? Or maybe your Harmony device has more limitations than mine? IIRC there were device limits depending on the Harmony product.

Hi mate what’s the easiest and safest way to remove a hub? I currently have 2 connected and I feel all these disconnects have something to do with this as I’m sure when I only had one connected it was fine. I want to test that theory. Thanks.

Just delete the hub you want to remove

Is this driver currently offline or not working? I have an automation that runs every Friday at 5  that issues some commands to devices using this driver and it did not work correctly today. Another automation that runs every Sunday at 1 worked fine this past Sunday. I turned on “Get Config on Connect” and it does not seem to be returning my list of devices. Tried power cycling my hub.

Must have been a temporary glitch. My automations are now working again and I did now get a device list.

In my region, the driver wasn’t operational on November 1st. Back to normal next day.
