Driver Update: Support for more than 10 Activities
As some of you have pointed out to me there was a limit to the number of activity devices supported by this driver, this wasn’t intentional and was caused by some rate-limiting on the smartthings API at the point I was trying to create your activity devices - basically if you try to create too many devices in quick succession, it limits you to 10 devices. Thanks to @nayelyz for investigating this and providing ways to work around it. The driver will now create more than 10 activity devices.
The updates in this driver are
- Support for more than 10 activity devices per hub !
- Added some logic to slow down the creation of activity devices
- Existing activity devices will be skipped during creation phase, reducing the chances of rate limiting happening, and also providing the opportunity to try again later (i.e if you have 20 activities, and rate limiting kicks in at 10, next time you try it will start at 11, instead of 1)
- Better logcat logging when adding activity devices
- Activity addition now also logs to the history tab to tell you what it is doing.
The method of adding new activities has not changed - and is the same for adding existing activities or starting from scratch.
- Turn on ‘Config on connect’, wait 20s - this ensures the latest config is loaded from the harmony hub
- Turn on ‘Activity Devices Enabled’ - this will start the creation process
- Turn both off when complete
The driver should automatically update to your hub within the next 24 hours, or you can force an update on the CLI or in the App.
