I have two
Ecolink Z-Wave Wireless Tilt Sensor - ECO-TILT-US one on each garage door. and it works fine using the SmartThings open close sensor Device Handler. I am forced to use that device handler so it runs local. I have another modified handler that shows garage doors which I would prefer to use, but it won’t run local. All I did was modify the Smartthings Open Close to use garage door icons. Does anyone know of a way to get it to run local using my modified ST device type?

You can’t. Right now only ST’s approved DH’s will run local. As soon as you edit a device to use a custom DH, no matter how little you changed it, it will stop being local.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I submitted the modified ST DH but it was not accepted. I don’t understand why since the only thing changed from the ST original were ith icons being used.
