Ecobee3 - Cancel Sleep Mode When Away?

Anybody have any ideas on how to do this? It’s a huge waste of energy for my thermostat to switch from away to my sleep profile if I’m not home.

I was playing with this for the first time last night.

I have mine to “Automstically perform” and under that screens “Additional Options” there is an option to “Don’t’ automatically do this if I am one of these modes.” which I set to away…

Dunno if this helps in your case.

Hello, you may want to look into my AwayFromHome smartapp, see description under:

http://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=Category:Unpublished_SmartApps

It requires My Ecobee Device, which is a custom Ecobee device for ST:

P.S. You may also want to expose your ecobee3’s remote sensors as individual ST sensors.

And many other smartapps around ecobee…

This looks awesome! Let me check it out and report back.

I’m getting some sort of error message almost constantly (every 5 min) in the logs and notifications for the Ecobee device. “ecobee3 verbose trace is doRequest>exception groovyx.net.http.HttpResponse Exception: Internal Server Error for null” is one of them. Another is saying something about being unauthorized. I don’t feel like typing the whole string and it doesn’t seem to be showing up in my log on graph.api. Any thoughts on what is causing this? The thermostat seems to be updating ok despite the errors but I just want to be sure.

Hi @jarettp, see the known issues under the ST community wiki:

In brief, this is due to the ST-ecobee connection, and not my code… My code will notify you of any connection issue though.
