I have a simple Jasco switch that I want to also kick-on a Jasco smart plug when turned on, and turn off when I turn the light switch off. I had this running via a routine, but it would sometimes lag a second. I thought I would try direct association using groups to make it work more efficiently, and I wanted to learn how to use these to better pair sensors with lights for a project I’m going to be working on. The switch now takes signfiicantly longer. 2 or 3 seconds now. I have tried running a zwave repair and it just seems to spin forever. I have current firmware and have rebooted a few times. Not sure what to do at this point. I was reading I may have some ghost devices hanging out? My zwave footprint is small at this location. Maybe 25 devices total.
Thanks! It’s a V3 hub, and in very close proximity to the switch and outlet in question. It’s just on the other side of the wall from the hub. The hub sits next to the wifi router, so I suppose that could be an issue? I’ve never had problems in the past, and like I said, the routine ran very quickly. I am considering just factory resetting the whole thing, I but I don’t want to end up with a bunch of orphaned devices.
The engineering team would need to check this case, but it can take a while.
If you decide to go this route, I suggest you delete the Hub from the SmartThings app first, so it triggers the deletion of all the devices registered in the platform, and then factory reset the hub.
To delete the hub, you need to enter its details in the app, go to the menu, and select “Delete device” which will prompt you with a confirmation pop-up that explains what will be deleted.
