I created a lighting group and have set them to dim gradually. They are all triggered to come up to 100% before sunset based on luminosity, and then I am attempting to 10 minutes after sunset to Dim Gradually over the course of an hour from 100-30%. I can of course control the group or individual lights without any issue. It’s just this automation. I have tried changing the automation to different trigger times or manually run and they just don’t work. I have this setup at a second location and it works just fine.
Ok, I’m not clear on what isn’t working. Is the Routine never being triggered or is it being triggered but the actions are not being performed correctly? A look in History should tell you if the Routine is triggered or not.
I don’t see it triggered or any activity from it with either the time of day or manual run.
If you set a specific time of the day to start, say 5:00pm, the Routine is not running? That sounds peculiar.
I used the Test button on the Routine to test the actions in a Routine similar to yours and they performed successfully. Have you done the same?
You are correct, if I use the test button I do not see the lights change or see anything in the devices history concerning the routine. If I set it to a time of day I do not see the lights change, or any history of it running in any of the devices history. I have several dimmable switches at this location and none of them work.
I have another location where these automations work fine, so I know what I am looking for, it just does not work here.

Just verified at the other location, since group lighting does not show a history, but in the device themselves they do show time: On, then time: 100% (Sleep start) in the history, so they are labeled differently then normal dimmer operation. They work on manual run as well as using the Test Automation while building it.
Ok, your testing seems to mimic what I see in my testing in the device history:
- Dimmer 100% (Sleep start)
- Power On
- 1% (Sleep end)
- Power off
So, now it goes back to the question of whether the time-of-day Routine is firing or not. I’d set a specific time and then look at the device history for both the lighting group and the devices themselves to see if you see similar history entries. I’d also expect to see an entry for the Routine firing in the Menu->History tab. Be sure that the filters are set to display Routines.
I’ve tested the Dim Gradually as Manual Run, Time of day, Sunset. They do not work. Dim Gradually is not available for individual devices. Setting a specific dimming level at a time of day with the lighting group works as expected. The problem is definitely specific to Sleep, Dim Gradually or Brighten Gradually. On, Off, Turn On or off, and setting the dimming level work fine.
