Device type for MiLight / EasyBulb / LimitlessLED Wifi controller

I also noticed my lights not working via ST approximately 12 hours ago. I haven’t turned logs on yet but i suspect it’s the same issue, given that the native control is working without problem.

@simonfunston yep it is, I’ve logged it with Jared in his github project ( https://github.com/cloudsyjared/SmartThings-MiLight) as he requests if issues arise.

I’ve been following the issue on github as well and looks like Jared has sorted it out

Mine are all back up!

Yep back operational here too…many thanks Jared.

Just updated the device type and smartapps and tested it out. It is all working from my view point. On the Things tab in the iphone app, the master controller is displaying unknwn in gray but all works.

@everyone :

Thanks to those of you who are logging issues on GH – it’s much easier for me to track problems and solve them.

I have been working behind on some cool stuff behind the scenes, I think everyone will be very happy with the results.

I need to start getting list of a handful of users to help me beta test some new service endpoints + setup tools + new features. If this is something you are interested in, please drop me a line on the projects GH page.

For everyone else, there will be a new SmartThings app going out hopefully soon. I think I can now set the “disco” mode without having to step through all 20, which could be cool. That will require a new interface. I will update this thread when it’s been pushed to Github.

Finally, MiLight has release a 2016 version of their bulb, which advertises 16 million colors (allows for saturation changes). These could be very much in line with what the Hue bulbs look like. I have reached out to the company who actually manufactures these bulbs for the new spec sheet. I will be adding support for these bulbs as the #1 priority in my roadmap.

If people are interested in donating to this project, I need the new bulbs + the new wifi controller (when it is released).

@Jared wasn’t sure where to put info into the GIT Hub Project. I’d be happy to help with some testing and donate to this project.

One thing to note is that Github integration is only available in the US, us lowly international customers need to copy and paste.

But that isn’t something I can control or specific to my app…if anything you would be doing the same thing for any other app posted here.

Agreed, not related to your app, just an FYI for those who try to follow the instructions, it took me a long time to work out why publishing the apps wasn’t working, there is a different link for outside the US.

Hi everyone,

I got the new 2016 bulbs in today. Wow am I impressed. These are really, really nice. Looks like the Wifi hub hasnt been released yet. Im talking with the manufacturer to get an ETA!

@hamishahern Futlight will not give me the command codes for the 2016 RGB+CCT bulbs. They’ve told me that someone who places sales orders with them has to ask.

So for me to bring SmartThings integration to the LimitlessLed bulbs, can you please ask CiCi or your sales rep to get this information for me? I was hoping they would be willing to work with me since I’m the only one doing the ST integration, but nope.

@zuperman4ever, yep that master controller does display UnKnown in gray. One cool thing I noticed is that if you turn that on, all associated zones turn on / off

Yea that’s by design. The master switch has only on/off/dim/color – so if you set one of the “child” lights the master switch doesn’t know what it’s supposed to be.

I got the lights and bridge talking to each other and it is working but I’m a bit lost on the directions to get this setup on ST.

Device Code Installation:
Visit your SmartThings developer site, https://graph.api.smartthings.com/ and login.
Select “My Device Handlers”
Click “Settings”
Add my repo information (owner: cloudsyjared, name: SmartThings-MiLight, branch: master)
Save
Select “Update from Repo” > “SmartThings-Mighlight (master)” and check the “publish” box.
Verify there is a new device listed, named “cloudsyjared : MiLight Controller”

After I log in and go to “My Device Handlers”, I see “Enable GitHub Integration”, “Create New Device Handler”, “Import” button, and a Search box.

Something happen 'cause lights are turning on or off?

Same here.

Please use the github page, that’s what it’s there for.

Lights should be working again. My setup is all pointing at the new infrastructure, so I don’t know when the old one stops working.

If it’s not working now, please use the Github page to submit an issue. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

So im continuing my quest to find a lower cost lighting solution that works with ST.

I’ve come across various references to Mi-light have searched on this forum and I gather there may be some limited compatibility with these.

Has anyone actually got these working reliably? Do they require a separate hub? 50GBP for 4 GU10 smart bulbs seems a bit more reasonable than the competition.

Anyone out there got these working reliably?

See link below for model details…

Thanks in advance…

D

@Daniel_Edge, I use those lights and they work well with the code that @Jared has put together.

Yes the lights need a hub, here is an example (you may find cheaper elsewhere)

The lights basically talk to the hub and the hub talks to Jared code.

I haven’t bought my bulbs from Amazon as I get hit by Euro conversion, so I bought them on AliExpress where you can find the items often at cheaper rates - just make sure you purchase under the Import Duty rates in your country of residence, if you wish to same some more money
