@maddie’s last comment reminded me that I have that option selected in the Blink smartapp. So that’s why I can use the commands on/off on my sync module.
But still, if rule machine can see the commands, I’m sure WebCoRE can too.

I decided to start playing around with WebCoRE for the first time. I wanted to make a piston that can backup the camera settings that change when my ST hub goes into home mode (usually triggered by a good morning routine). Sometimes even with @RBoy’s smartapp, some of the setting changes don’t make it to my Blink XT camera.
I really don’t know how to code, but I made a piston that seems to work, except there’s one part that’s a little off in lines 28-37 (see below). I’m trying to check the camera’s motionsensitivity, and if it’s not set to 7, then setmotionsensitivity(7). The piston does evaluate the current motionsensitivity, but it invariably changes it to 9 in the blink app. Doesn’t matter if I set it to something else (e.g. setmotionsensitivity(6) does the same thing). Anyone know how I’m using those commands incorrectly? Thanks.

So I seem have got my issue fixed of my system disarming. Used a variety of Pistons to keep the cameras working.
Now I am noticing that I cannot get the cameras to record anything over 5 seconds. No matter what I do. I have the blink app itself set to 8 seconds, and I even tried to use Rboys app to set to certain record times based on mode. But it is always five seconds. No matter what.
Plot thickens…
I tried rebooting the hub, router n phone. No joy?
However for some bizarre reason I was able to get things working when Wifi is turned off (using mobile data). The live videos work fine under SmartThings, but not when WiFi is on!? I never had this issue since the upgrade of DH n SmartApp.

Hey! I forgot all about there being a video feed in the ST Tile!
For me, the native Blink App is much better for viewing live video and reviewing recorded video so i don’t even bother with viewing through ST. Never-the-less, I understand how something that suppose to be working isn’t.

Thats correct.
Sometimes it’s the SmartThings mobile app that has issues (we’ve noticed the app gets slower after playing a few videos), many folks report that killing the app and restarting it works.

The refresh command in itself doesn’t contact the camera (sync module) but contacts the Blink server for updates. You can see the first post for more details.
However constantly pinging the Blink server over an extended period of time is in itself not a good idea and can trigger rate limit restrictions. I am curious which Amazon app is sending those refresh commands (Ask Alexa or the ST Echo app) and if it is a user initiated request? I’m not seeing any such activity here on our lab setup with the ST Amazon Echo or the Ask Alexa app.
Has to be the ST Echo App. I am getting the 10 minute Alexa refresh on all of my indoor cameras. I updated the DTH and App earlier thinking that might have had something to do with it. Really not an IDE Log freak but just wanted to know if all the activity did anything to my batteries. As long as that is not the case then, I will just ignore the IDE Logs.
