I’d like to raise a feature request that affects anyone building or using drivers with multi-tile dashboard layouts.
The Problem
When a device uses multi-tile dashboard mode (multiple tiles shown on the dashboard for a single device), every tile displays the device label — for example “Touch wall switch 4 1” — instead of the component label defined in the profile, such as “Switch 1”, “Switch 2”, or “Curtain”.
In the device detail view, component labels display correctly. The gap is exclusively on the dashboard tiles.
Why This Matters
Multi-tile mode exists precisely to give users individual control over each channel of a multi-gang device. But if every tile shows the same device label, users cannot tell which tile controls which switch or curtain without opening the detail view first. This defeats the purpose of the feature.
What We’re Asking For
When a component has a label defined in the device profile, use that label on its dashboard tile instead of repeating the device label.
This is a pure UI/platform change — no driver API changes needed. Driver developers already define component labels correctly in their profiles today.
Who Is Affected
Any driver that uses multi-tile dashboard mode with named components — multi-gang switches, multi-channel relays, curtain/blind controllers, and more.
