Custom branded zigbee modules

Hi folks.
I have customer’s house which is automated with a custom braded zigbee devices.
Is there a chance to integrate and control them from smartthings hub?
If zigbee devices can be added but i must have a propper driver for it, how hard is to create it doing reverse engineering? The manufacturer has dissapeared.

Thank you!

Zigbee allows for different profiles, and they are not all compatible with each other. So they might be able to work and they might not depending on the profile that they use. (For example, Control4 uses its own proprietary Zigbee protocol which is not compatible with smartthings.)

So the first thing is to look on the device and see if there is a manufacturer brand and model given. If it is made for sale in the United States it will also have an FCC license number, which would be helpful.

FAQ: Zigbee Application Profiles, or why not all zigbee devices work with SmartThings

Hi JD.
They were made for latin america, so no fcc.
I’ve tried to do reverse image lookup to see if i found similar modules, but no luck.
I guess i’d have to try.
The problem is that if i unpair a customers module to test, then i won’t be able to put it back…

Thanks!
