Curtain hardware information?

The only thing I’ve installed so far is the window and the wire. I’m waiting until I finish the casing and until I purchase the curtain. I’m doing it exactly according to the instructions provided by vint83. I purchased this:

Thank you to everyone who helped me. Here’s a video of the final project:

Did you have to split the neutrals or did it work just as drawn?

Hi RealtorNerd! I did it exactly as shown in the diagram provided by vint83. (I did not have to split the neutral.

As advised in this thread, I bought the Dooya and the microcontroller. Smartthings idenitfies the Aeotec microcontroller as Dimmer Switch. I am yet to connect the motor to the curtain track but I notice that the Dooya motor turns only a little bit and stops when I switch it on through smartthings. I would expect Dooya motor to continue to rotate until it could not any more. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Appreciate if someone can advise on it.

Sanjay, I am not an expert on the Dooya curtains, but having installed one set of them, and I can think of two things that might be wrong. The motor automatically sets itself to stop based on the first time it runs. First, the track could have too much friction so that the motor thinks it got to the end of the track. Second, the motor might just need to be reset. You can reset it by holding down the button on it. If you purchased your system on from Aliexpress, the seller will give you advice if you ask him.

Hello
Is your Dooya motor 110 volt ???

Hi,

  1. Try to connect your motor to 110V directly and see if it works fine.
  2. You can also try Custom Device Type from this thread Aeon micro motor controller DSC14104

Mine is 110 volts. I don’t think your motor is going to turn the correct amount until it’s attached the track and reset.

The code that is in this thread is buggy: Aeon micro motor controller DSC14104
I modified it so that it work the way I want. With the capability of switch, you do not need a custom app.

which code do you recommend? i also have the same setup and i am about to start installing everything but i want to use the best DTH.

many thanks!

Can you share your modified device handler for the Aeon controller? Thanks

Me too! Mine got delivered today, but I forgot to order the micro controller…
It took less than a week to arrive… Talk about efficiency…
Waiting for the Aeon controller now from Amazon…

Found this guide to be pretty helpful on how this system works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqkHtMBsa-g

Finally got my rails installed. There was no instruction at all…
If your rails were folded in half with a loose belt, you need to open up the end box, pull the belt towards the end, and put the extra belt inside.
There is also a piece on top of the rail screwed in by 4 hex screws. Loose those screws and move that piece to the center of the rail connecting the 2 rails.
Make sure the leading part where you put the curtain hook in is towards you, not towards your window, else curtain might get stuck on window frame. Took me a long time to figure this out. I even cut off a piece of the frame corner before I found out the real problem…

Haha!! mine came in today also lol but i had ordered the controller a few days after I placed the order so everything is in and now I’m all excited to install this bad boy

okay… so for anyone interesting in helping out… I have everything wired up and the only issue I am still having is that the it doesn’t always report the proper current state of the ON/OFF switch. An example is if i press ON and it is off it works and on the app it will light green as if ON and then in the app about a second later will go on “OFF” as if it is on a momentary style switch when technically the device on the app should show “ON” until off is pressed etc.

Also, this happens about 50-60 precent of the time and It is using the default DTH from Aeotec that it comes with. I also reset the switch on the back as it had an option for momentary or wall switch style and it is currently on wall switch as the momentary will have this issue 100 precent of the time.

I seem to remember something about the micro motor controller’s button being finicky with how long you hold it. I think I got help with it in another thread.

I tried searching the threads but really haven’t had much luck finding anything on it…

hI sIR i HAVE DONE IT A BIT DIFFERENT USING A DOOYA MOTOR 110 VOLT …iS THAT WHAT YOU HAVE AND HAVING PROBLEMS ??? Let Me Know

deeznutz, sorry, but I don’t remember the details of the thread as it was a while ago.

way2fast4u, mine is 110 volts in the US. I wired it with Romex from an outlet junction box, and I put the micro motor controller in the junction box.

Mine works great, as I posted in the video above, and I’m very happy with it. It was a real challenge to get everything working. I wired it exactly as instructed by vint83 above. I have no wall switch, but operate it solely by my iPhone through my SmartThings app.

I’ll help as I can, but I’m no expert. superhell2001, I’ll post my code in my next message, which is duplicated in another thread.

Yes, I’m actually using the Dooya DT82TV (which has a built in remote feature that is not z-wave, which I thought might be a good idea in the future just incase).

I wired it up exactly the same except for the remote wire which goes directly to the “Live” connection on the controller.

Btw for anyone looking to do a curtain setup I highly recommend the DT82 series, it’s unreal on how quiet it is!

Could you please describe how you did it? I am installing a Dooya DT52S motor.
