They should work in SmartTiles, too

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat they have a temp sensor too?! Awesome!

I have two of those motion sensors and use @johnconstantelo device type. They work great and they have somewhat accurate temp reporting. Ecolinkā€™s are sexier, though.

More PEQ water sensors at ebay for $24.99. Just got one from another vendor for $19.99

Are there any good deals on zwave open close sensors that monitor temperature as well?

I know the GoControl ones donā€™t report tempsā€¦

Thanks

I picked up the my first Hue light the Hue Bloom at BestBuy for $60, typically $80 most places. The new Hue bridge can now be ordered stand-alone on Amazon. Comes in stock Oct 19.

I have two bloom lights. Theyā€™re really cool - now I just need one of the new lightstrips.

For all Canadiansā€¦Home Depot has a deal on right now for a $5.00 automatic rebate coupon on LED bulbs until October 25th. I picked up the Cree 40W for 3.98 after rebate and 60W for 5.98 after rebate. These bulbs are great with their instant on and dimmability.

I picked up some duals for $25.59 each.

Sorry for the basic question, but I just want to make sure I understand how these are used.

You could actually put these inside a wall outlet and wire it to the outlet so it could be turned off/on remotely, right? So this would be an internal solution instead of buying a wireless plug you plug into the outlet?

Usually these are used to control a switch, not an outlet. But they can also be used to control an outlet. If they have a high enough load capacity, for example, people put them on pool pumps or other devices that might run for fairly short times that you want to put on a schedule. A dual relay might power the pool pump and the pool sweep independent of each other. (Nothing fancy, just on/off) Always check the load rating. Some of them will only make sense for controlling lights, not motors.

If you just want to network a wall receptacle, itā€™s more typical to replace the whole receptacle because you usually get indicator lights and a button to make it easier to pair and stuff like that. Or, as you say, use a plug in module that fits into the existing receptacle.

Iā€™ve already got plenty of them, but thought someone might want another $19.95 PEQ Moisture sensor. 1 left

I grabbed it, thanks!!!

Got my DragonTech switches today. Have not wired them in yet, will likely do a few tonight. Build quality is better than I thought. Well packaged, well written instructions in English, nice solid feeling switch. Iā€™ll circle back once installed.

What color is the indicator light?

The quality of the DragonTech documentation is definitely impressive, particularly in this price range.

There seems to be some real engineering in these things. Iā€™m also impressed that they give you a choice between screw connection and cap Connection. I admit, Iā€™m old-fashioned, I prefer cap Connection. So it always bugs me that the GE switches only offer screws. People who really know wiring like @Navat604 @bravenel and @Mike_Maxwell may think Iā€™m just prejudiced on this. I donā€™t know that it really makes a difference. :sunglasses:

But in any case, itā€™s nice to see some competition in the low-end price range for Z wave switches.

I ordered one of these PEQ water sensors but the package that I received was a PEQ Door/Window sensor. Oh well, I can use one of those too. The price was still right. Now I guess Iā€™m still in the market for a cheap water sensor!

Jet.com has the Kwikset 910 Deadbolt for $109.64 link

With the current 20% off that brings the price down to $87.71. Not the best of z-wave deadbolts but at this price itā€™s hard to complain.

Be aware that smart key locks are notoriously easy to force open.

Supposedly theyā€™ve fixed or at least made it harder to open this way. At least thatā€™s what I remember seeing elsewhere. I donā€™t know that Iā€™d use it for my front door but for something like the door to the garage I think it should suffice.
