Creating a relay closure alarm from Arduino to ST shield for Arduino

Hi @ogiewon,
Yes, I would love it if you would do that (create the solution in the ST_Anything). And I’d be all the more appreciative. It would help me to springboard into something most appropriate for my application. Yes, you understand this correctly in that I am trying to detect when the furnace goes on the fritz as I’m fortunate enough to have an alarm output on the control module. It’s supposed to have 24vac across the pins but I’ve only detected a relay closure. I’m prepared either way hardware wise. So yes, I can detect a high/low on pin 2 on the Arduino.

To your comment asking why I would want to emulate a switch… Well, I was thinking of it in terms of on/off (or open/closed). Not sure if my thinking/judgement was correct on this, but I suspect there is a lot of overlap with the simple on/off for things like relays, switches and outlets.
I’m eager and interested to see your approach. I’m really anxious to know what I’m failing to understand in the docs.

To your comment that I had uncommented out line 113… at first it was complaining about another line a few lines down (for a Mega board if my memory serves). I had commented out 113 based off the comments because I have an UNO.

To your comment about your sending me a private message. This is a first for me so I’ll have go fish for it.
Whew!
I really appreciate your willingness to help.

Regards,
Mike
