Convert Iris contact sensor to a light switch

Found this on Thingiverse. Great way to utilize that extra Iris contact sensor.

Idea is good but it will probably work for small LED light. There are no specs for the contact. Based on usage and size I believe relay inside is reed and probably not good for 120V.
Project itself doesn’t say much.

Nothing needs to be connected to the sensor. The battery is all it needs to operate. This would be a set up to control a smart light or other smart device/routine/scene.

So you do not wire it to the bulb? Then you have to use a smart bulb.

This would be a no load “switch”. Basically you setup a rule in Smart Lighting or Webcore looking for a change in the contact sensor that would then trigger something to happen. Interesting idea and something I have done with a smart switch with no load.
