I have a Connect Home Pro which I purchased in Canada a few years ago. Rencelty, i tried to connect it via the SmartThings app, but it returned me with the error code 36-302 or sometimes 36-201 and refused to connect to WiFi. I have tried to factory reset the model or unplug it, but it did not help.
I searched online, and it looks like it’s a problem where the device’s software is too old and cannot be connected to the SmartThings server.
Would buying a used Connect Home Hub resolve the problem? Can I register the used hub to my account and use it to update my own Connect Home?
I have seen a similar experiencing purchasing a used, smart connect home pro and being unable to connect to it at all. Just assumed these devices are no longer supported.
Worse, I’m also now seeing issues with my smart home WiFi versions falling offline as well, which is very frustrating.
That’s disappointing. I was trying to find a used model so I could update the system for my own devices, as it seems like the only way to bring it back to life. It’s only been eight years since the release, and for a simple Wi-Fi hub, that’s not long, and unfortunately, there’s no way to reach the SmartThings team anymore, even though they used to be so responsive.
