Has anyone confirmed a CO2 sensor showing data in the Samsung Health Sleep Environment Report? Which specific device and integration method worked for you?"
Thank you for the quick answer! Could you clarify a bit further: Does the CO2 value from the IKEA ALPSTUGA actually appear inside the Samsung Health Sleep Environment Report (the sleep dashboard in the Samsung Health app, linked via SmartThings) — or does it only show up as a regular device reading in the SmartThings app itself?
That distinction is very important for my use case. I specifically need the CO2 data to appear in the sleep environment analysis within Samsung Health, not just as a sensor value in SmartThings.
Also: Did you need to do the driver switch workaround (Matter Switch → Matter Sensor) to get the CO2 value to appear correctly in SmartThings?
Thanks a lot!
It shows up in the Sleep Environment Report inside of the SmartThings app. I don’t know if this is linked to the Samsung Health app.
Did you need to do the driver switch workaround (Matter Switch → Matter Sensor) to get the CO2 value to appear correctly in SmartThings?
No. This only happened to some users and the issue (likely a race condition) has been fixed in the current version of the Matter sensor driver.
Thank you so much for the detailed answer and the screenshot — that’s exactly the kind of confirmation I was looking for!
One last question, if you don’t mind: You mentioned you’re not sure whether the Sleep Environment Report is also linked to the Samsung Health app (not just the SmartThings app). Would you be able to quickly check?
In Samsung Health, go to: Sleep → scroll down to „Sleep Environment" or „Schlafumgebung" → see if the CO2 data from your ALPSTUGA appears there as well.
If Samsung Health isn’t installed on your device, it’s a free download — but no pressure at all, your SmartThings screenshot already helped me enormously!
Background: I’m trying to decide whether to buy the ALPSTUGA specifically for the Samsung Health sleep analysis. The SmartThings report alone would already be very useful, but the Samsung Health integration would be the ideal scenario.
Thanks again for your time!
I know. I had it installed until it suddenly wasn’t compatible anymore with my daily driver, a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5.
Ah, that makes total sense — the Galaxy Tab Active series is enterprise-focused, so Samsung Health support is limited there. No worries at all!
Since you can’t test the Samsung Health side, I’ll go ahead and order the ALPSTUGA based on your SmartThings confirmation. That’s already more than enough evidence to justify the purchase.
I’ll report back here once I’ve tested it — including whether the CO2 data appears in Samsung Health. That way this thread becomes a useful reference for others with the same question.
Thanks again for your time and patience!
