We get a lot of emails every week asking about where folks can buy the cheapest z-wave Smart Locks and which are the best z-wave Smart Locks. Will try to keep this updated to reflect the latest prices/deals and newer locks on the market.
There’s no one answer, each brand has it’s pro’s and con’s and each model within the brand have their pro’s the con’s. The best locks for you depends on what features you want from your locks. There are some locks which have issues such as firmware bugs, design restrictions, known defects etc. I would highly recommend reading these posts before you decide on what’s the best lock for you:
See the table in this post to compare features for popular lock brands/models
Some features are unique to specific locks, deep green means it’s a best in class feature, green means it has an upper hand, red means it’s restriction or not available. See the NOTES section at the bottom of that post

Personally - having worked with 50+ lock brands/models and thousands of locks across the globe over the past decade, we’ve found that, in the z-wave category, Yale locks (YRD and YRL series with the Z-Wave Plus module) tend to have the fewest issues with reliable battery management.
Here are the best deals found for these models. If you find more feel free to share. Some of these have volume discounts and don’t forget to check for coupon/instant discounts (they’re small and tend to be hidden on some websites).
