Hi
am having trouble getting my Meross hub working with SmartThings (post here so have been trying to unlink the Meross service from SmartThings and start again. If I choose
Add Service | Add partner device | Meross
I get a window saying This partner service is already connected etc.
and a button View linked service
. I click this and the next window has an unlink
button at the bottom. I click this and confirm that I want to unlink the meross-c2c-pro
devices but then get the error message Error while deleting the installed Viper app
. No idea what this means so would appreciate any suggestions - thanks!
To unlink, tap on Menu, go to Settings (the cog in the upper right) and select Linked services. Tap on Meross and choose unlink.
Hi @jkp - tried that and after a few repeats of the Error while deleting Viper app
message then I got a window saying Unlink
but the progress bar icon has been spinning for the past 30 mins or so and we don’t seem to be getting much further
Force quit the app and try to unlink it
I quit the app and relaoded it them followed the same procedure but now can’t get rid of the Error while deleting the Viper app
message
Shot in the dark: delete the devices in the SmartThings app first.
Hi @Andreas_Roedl - good thought - unfortunately SmartThings says “This device is connected to SmartThings through another service. If you want to remove this device fromSmartThings so go linked services and unlink the service”.
OK, @jkp and @Andreas_Roedl problem solved … I was getting the “Viper” error message when trying to unlink Meross on my brand new Galaxy A9. I installed Smartthings on an old iPad and unlinked it within seconds. Slightly perplexed why a Samsung device has a problem doing something in Smartthings when an iPad doesn’t and suspect this might be a bug? Is there a bug reporting mechanism for Smartthings?
In the app, tap on Menu and select Contact us —> Error reports
@jkp - thanks!
