Can Alexa Respond When Front Door is Open?

I was wondering when my front door opens if Alexa can verbally tell me that “the front door is open?” I have an iPhone not an Android. Any ideas?

Cheap Android phone/tablet off Amazon or eBay? The only solution I know of is Android based. Maybe someone else knows a way.

I can do it with my Sonos + CoRE. Haven’t figured out a way to do it with the Echo.
