Bulbs... Direct or via Hue?

Hey,

Sort for the questions but are bulbs ok to be connected direct to ST? Or is it better via Hue

Would this apply even if the bulbs are not hue bulbs?

Not necessarily.

The first rule of home automation applies: “the model number matters.”

Or in this case, the brand.

For example, last I heard INNR bulbs did not have the Zigbee drop off problem when used directly with the smartthings hub.

Also, the Hue motion sensor appears to work fine when used directly with the smartthings hub as long as you use a custom edge driver.

So it depends on the specific device you’re considering. :thinking:

Ahh ok, that’s good. So I have sengled that I know don’t repeat and Innr so as long as I stick to other bulbs that don’t cause problems I’m all fine. Thanks
