Broadlink RM2 compatibility (bridges 433 MHz and 315 MHz )

I also bought it (RM2) about a month ago. Tried to get it working with SmartThings, but didn’t get that running. Their iOS app is quite bad by the way. And the timer I set for my vacuum robot is also pretty unreliable. I hope it will be more useful in the future, would be great to start the vacuum as soon as everybody leaves the house…

I had a look at the SDK but IDK what I’m doing.

Got my e-air sensor eventually. Freaked out a bit when it did a software update and took well over an hour to read the right temperature and humidity.

Got the boradlink working with my RF-remote curtains too, so I can trigger them to close based on the light values.

@joylove Could you share how to make RF-remote curtains controlled by RM2, please?

@Ivy_Growing My curtains are 433MHz by DOOYA which are a sub-brand of SOMFY.

I added the 433MHz remote to the RM2 by finding the built in curtain remote someone had already made with the nice curtain icon. I changed the button lables from Chinese to English and deleted all the unused buttons.

Then I used the learn function in the RM2 to overwrite the commands for my curtain tracks.

Thank you, @joylove. My RM-Pro doesn’t learn the Somfy RC. Either I have different standard of Somfy or the RM-Pro is defective. :frowning:
UPD: The RM-Pro is OK. It can learn/repeat non-Somfy RF RC @433 MHz.

Good news, so you are still having issues? Or it is resolved?

Still can’t operate Somfy curtain.

Is your remote 433MHz or 315MHz?

I have this remote: http://www.homecontrols.com/SO1810633.jpg

I supposed it’s 433MHz. Seems I an wrong. Looking for an RF spectrum analyser to measure its carrier.

If it’s a US made/sold it’s 315MHz. 433MHz isn’t unlicensed spectrum in the USA.

However I thought the RM2 was 315MHz/433MHz dual band?

IR frequency: 38K; RF frequency: 433 / 315MHz; Working temperature: -20’C~60’C; Working humidity: <=80%; Wireless power consumption: <=0.5W; Wireless type: Wi-Fo 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n; APP download web: ‎BroadLink e-Control on the App Store or http://cloud.broadlink.com.cn/soft/broadlink2/broadlink.apk

http://www.dx.com/p/broadlink-rm2-intelligent-wi-fi-ir-rf-remote-controller-for-iphone-android-phone-black-298993#.VUab6s7shNY

Small step ahead: the Somfy RF signal should be transmitted significant time to be acquired. This is not just button press. The button should be hold half a second. Then the RM-pro receives it (amber LED flashes).
However, the immediate test doesn’t work. As well calibrated test doesn’t work too.

I found nice doc: https://pushstack.wordpress.com/2014/04/14/reversing-somfy-rts/
As expected, the RF communication is dynamic for security reasons.

Interesting how to change the recorded code in the RM-PRO?

Right now the Broadlink is a dead end. There is no HTTP plug in for it that will work with ST. An SDK was published by broadlink but that’s it.

You could take a look at something like STACK box but 433MHz is labelled *coming soon, which is demonstrably worthless claim these days.

Does the air sensor integrates with the RM2?

Doesn’t the RM2 has temperature, humidity sensors?

Any special configurations? Any air purifier that can be turned on to clean the air?

Good news, it’s not exactly a dead end.
I’ve build a Tasker plugin that works with Broadlink RM devices.
Take a look at my demo video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj9GFhuhelM

The plugin is already available from Google Play Store http://bit.ly/rm_tasker
7-days trial version is also available

can some one tell me what the best curtain or blind product is best to purchase for the Broadlink / smart things system

My DOOYA motors work great at 433MHz with broadlink. However they aren’t connected to ST.

Is there anything like this for IOS? I have blinds that use RF and if I use the RM2 from Broadlink I can control it from my iphone. I would love to get a native ST device type to operate the shades.

iOS does not have Tasker, or widget feature like on Android. Therefore, no point for me to try doing an iOS version.

Hi frnds i m trying to learn somfy remote with rm pro but doesn’t work. Is there anyother way to run somfy motor with Broadlink app.
