I’m soon to take the EV plunge. How have any of you brought your EVs into SmartThings Energy?
Pretty interesting concept, so you want I assume to display the EV state of charge, charging, etc? Most manufacturers are pretty restrictive with the API, so you would need to start there, an EV that has a friendly API.
Well, my first inclination was basic energy use of the EV. Not sure if there is an ST Energy certified EV charger or outlet that can be used.
Beyond that some sort of control or integration. So if you have solar, charge when there is a solar excess. Or charge at low rates. And now with Vehicle2Home coming on, reverse meter when the car powers the house.
There are escalating ways of ST Energy integration. Has anyone been able to do anything along these lines?
Just taking a 5 min look, Home Assitant has it for Tesla, it should be doable to forklift the code into HA. Like I said it will depend on the brand of vehicle.
