Black Friday - Cyber Monday (November 29 - December 2, 2024)

Yale Locks - up to 60% off

August Locks - up to 40% off

If youā€™re in the market for a robot vacuum/mop combo, Dreametech is having good sales on their flagship X40 Ultra and the more basic, but still good, L10s Ultra. They donā€™t integrate with SmartThings, though.

Third Reality contact sensors are also on a Black Friday deal in the UK. Ā£12.99 single (normally Ā£20) and Ā£50.99 for four (normally Ā£75.99).

You have to be careful with Third Reality on Amazon UK as they often have two listings from the same supplier with different pricing.

So at the moment there is a separate listing for a single contact sensor still at Ā£20. The button is Ā£19.99 in one listing but Ā£12.99 in another where four cost Ā£74.33, and that isnā€™t even a Black Friday deal.

Several of the sensors have dropped from Ā£20 to Ā£12.99-Ā£14.99 for Black Friday.

It has to be said that a lot of the supposed Black Friday deals on Amazon are either the usual price or frequently seen discounts.

I bought these third reality contact sensors.

(I had bought about 10 of the clearance Xfinity contact sensors with the 2450 battery last year but found that they seem to have some issues with the batteries staying tight in the contacts and also with larger gaps between the magnet and sensor even though they have a decent cover and seal against the elements.)

I was hopeful that they would be a good replacement for one of my old iris contact sensors that I had been using outside for about years and which finally died. (Those iris sensors that look like a large pill have been really reliable for me, even in an outdoor setting and have had good battery life with the RCR2 batteries.)

The third reality sensors have a hole near the bottom as part of a button you press to remove the casing and no gasket, and the documentation states it is not for outdoor use. I donā€™t think they would stay dry in the rain so I decided not to try them outside. Just a warningā€¦
