Nice deal on some door sensors
The sensors in that ad don’t work with SmartThings
Maybe I missed it, but the only door sensors I saw in that ad were from their Stitch line. Those are Wi-Fi devices which do not integrate directly with smartthings. They’re also likely to have quite poor battery life, I would expect 2 to 3 months per sensor instead of the usual year or more for most of the smartthings – compatible sensors.
They do have an echo integration, so if They can trigger an echo routine (not a smartthings routine), you could use echo as a “man in the middle“ and get some integration that way. But I don’t know whether they work with the echo routines or not.
Monoprice does make a line of Z wave devices which do work with smartthings and are very popular For those looking for budget devices, but those will say Z wave in the product description.
Ahh you are right. I have some of their zwave models and didn’t read they were wifi. Scratching that off my list of things to buy next week.
OK, getting off target here but what the heck is happening with Amazon these days!! I just received an item that I ordered. It was marked as NEW but what I received was a USED item. I have returned so many items this year due to non-working, defective and mis-identified items. I have the feeling they are going to close my account some day soon. Argh!! Rant over, you can go about your regular business now.
Was it sold by Amazon, or by a third-party “fulfilled by Amazon“?
I’ve noticed that the third-party stuff has gotten completely unpredictable as their marketplace has grown. So now I only buy if it’s sold by Amazon itself or by the manufacturer. Or a specific seller that I happened to know.
Otherwise, I’m not buying it anymore.
This particular item was a third-party but I have had problems with Amazon sold items as well this year. I am still furious because I suffered a $100 restock fee for item that could not be repaired and it stretched past the 30 days (no fault on my part). A technician came twice to repair it and it took 2 weeks each time to get the parts and wait to reschedule the technician.
Anybody seen Black Friday deals for Rachio?
only thing I have seen are the current deals at Best Buy but nothing to get excited about. Can we interest you in an Echo instead?
How many zones? The 16 one is the same as 8 zones at Best Buy. The 8 zones is $30 off, for $199. If you have more than 8, it’s a great deal.
Wow! I have never seen prices this low on the Wemo mini plugs. Best Buy is offering two for $20 to My Best Buy Members. Login to your account and add 2 to your cart to see price.
