Beta - 61.X Hub Firmware and Edge Driver Release Notes

Signed up for beta from the AWA when this topic was created but for some reason it’s not getting pushed to my v2 hub. Can’t test the zigbee drivers

@Andreas_Roedl this was not something associated with the hub firmware itself but rather cloud service changes, and we have added a few extra metrics and alerts for this and a few other issues. There are further improvements to on-call rotation being rolled out this year. Thank you for your report.

New feature in 61.4 (released May 29th): Improved Reconnection Time for Matter devices following power cycling or battery replacement.

Please let us know if you see any changes around Matter device reconnection times.

Will do - specifically with those battery powered IKEA devices, for these are notoriously slow and difficult to reconnect after a system reboot. After a battery change they’ve been doing OK.

Also to note - the beta Zigbee Switch driver now recognizes the color temperature range on my Paulmann bulbs correctly as 2200-6500, where it previously had them as 2700-6500. Now these lamps don’t enumerate a colorTemperatureRange, so … did someone add range probing here? If so, then thanks! Nice!

Also²: It would be really useful to have detailed changelogs so we can try the new things specifically, rather than randomly discover changes when poking around our devices. (If these exist in the repositories, could you please point us there? Thanks!)

regards,
Peter

ST web application is what it is. It has all sorts of flaws.

Having a decent change log on all app, hub or device firmware updates would really be very useful.

61.5 just came out

My bedroom light turned on, because a BILRESA Scroll Wheel emitted an event. I see … #2978 hasn’t made it to production yet.

This is only Software change but since many supporters from ST are reading this post I’ll ask also in here:

Any chance to add this feature ? We the users in Israel would love to use SmartThings App in English while out Android phones language remains Hebrew… Please advise

I’m interested in receiving the firmware; I’ve already switched to beta on my hub. How long does it take to receive it?

Unless something changed along with the method of enrolment, you would normally expect to start receiving beta firmware at the beginning of the next release cycle. So that would be release 62.x.

don’t think that is the case… think it starts with the next 61.x release (if there is another) otherwise 62.x. I may be wrong. But since he indicated he wants to receive 61.x on the forum, staff will ask for his Hub EUI through a private DM and they can get it pushed out. tagging. @nayelyz @Itati
