Aqara smoke detector SD-S01E

Hi,

I have an Aqara smoke sensor SD-S01E, which I successfully connected to SmartThings. However, I’m encountering an issue: when the device detects smoke, the alarm on the device itself activates, but the status in the SmartThings app doesn’t change—it remains “clear.” As a result, I don’t receive any notifications on my phone about the smoke.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I install any additional drivers?

How did you test it? With real smoke or by pressing the test button?

You should also check the history tab in the device detail view.

I tested it with real smoke, putting out a candle. There is also no information about the detected smoke in the history of the device

Return them, get Frient smoke detectors.

Frient provides their own edge driver:

It has a temperature sensor:

The extremely loud siren can be used in routines and the SmartThings Home Monitor!

RSSI value is very low but LQI value is very good.

Is it possible to move the device closer to the hub or another device that functions as a Zigbee repeater?

I moved the device next to the hub, but there is still no notification of detected smoke

Now LQI and RSSI values are good. The sensor is probably faulty.

You could install the SmartThings CLI and execute the following command:

smartthings edge:drivers:logcat

Choose the driver, delete and re-add the device in the SmartThings app, test the device, paste the logcat output here in this thread.

From what I’ve read, it seems I need a computer, but I’m currently waiting for a new laptop. So, I think I’ll just return this sensor and buy a new one from Fibaro or Frient.
