Aqara radiator thermostat and open/close sensors in Smartthings

My setup

Hub: Aeotec SMART THINGS Hub V3

Radiator Thermostat: Aqara Smart Radiator Thermostat E1 (Zigbee) → Zigbee Thermostat Mc (Marianos Shared Beta Driver, from @Mariano_Colmenarejo)

Open/close sensor:
Silvercrest Smart Home Smart Window or Door Sensor (Zigbee) → Zigbee Contact Mc (Marianos Shared Beta Driver, from @Mariano_Colmenarejo)

All components are linked directly to the Smartthings hub (no other hub, f.e. from Aqara, is involved).

→ Spoiler/tldr: Solution for my Problem:

1. deleted Aqara Thermostat
2. deleted the Zigbee Thermostat Mc from Mariano (sorry Mariano)
*3. Added the Aqara Thermostat (it grabed itself the stock driver) *
Since then I´m able to reach an shut the valve, if window sensor is open.
(Thx to @Andreas_Roedl & @epukane)

Though my setup contains several sensors and cameras, lights and so on in some rooms over the house, let´s look at a specific setup an routine in one room:

1 Radiator Thermostat + 1 Window (open/close) sensor
What i want it to do:
It´s as simple as that: When I open the window, the radiator should turn shut.

I tried several routines:

If: Silvecrest or aqara is “sensor: open”

Then: Aqara Thermostat…

a) Heating temperature: 4
or
b) Cooling temperature: 0.0
or
c) Thermostat mode: off, or cool, or heat

But nothings works. It doesen´t matter if the sensor is “open” the radiator will keep heating up the room.
Let me asure you, I read through some forums, but nothing helped.
If the Silvercrest sensor wouldn´t work with the Aqara thermostat, i would have understood, but also the Aqara Sensor wouldn´t do.

Does anyone experienced the same difficulties in a similar setup? How do you manage to solve it? Any one any ideas?

Try it with either a manual executed or a time based routine.

IF time, THEN thermostat off

to find out, if the thermostat is able to switch off at all?

Have you try my suggestion?

Are you able to control the thermostat manually in SmartThings?

Does the contact sensor work in SmartThings?

You know: basic troubleshooting.

Will do. Still at work : )

Is is possible you set the routine for “When all conditions are met” rather than “When any condition is met”? Since you have two devices as triggers, that could be a problem.

Thx, @epukane . That is another thing I will consider: One rule with one trigger at a time.
In the meantime I started the manual testing, like @Andreas_Roedl suggested, since I have a little free available time today.

A thermostat radiator valve cannot cool. It’s not an air conditioner.

In your routine, set the heating temperature to 10 °C and the mode to Heizen (heating) and see if that works.

If that’s what the device presentation looks like for a TRV, then this should be changed.

Login here, select your TRV, make some screenshots and post them here.

If the device profile for a thermostat radiator valve is anything else than

thermostat-heating-only or thermostat-heating-only-nostate

then this must be fixed.

Just re-read your post…

Please delete your device from ST, delete the Zigbee Thermostat Mc driver and add the E1 again!

There’s a dedicated stock driver for your E1 with all of the nice features!
Here’s the driver, for information

That did the trick.

Funny, because when I first integrated the E1 to my Smartthings setup, I - of course - tried the stock driver and it didn´t work. But maybe they worked on it and updated it.

With the current stock driver, I´m now able to reach to valve an shut it, if the windows sensor is “open”. I can now hear the valve of the E1 shut itself, when I open the window with sensor.

Will keep an eye on that, if it lasts.

Thank me later…

As if you had already guessed it…
Since the Smartthings apps update (I think that changed something) the radiator turns up properly again when the window is open.
So far, I’ve spent a lot of my money on Smarthingshub, sensors and valves, wasting as much time as possible configuring, reconfiguring and reconfiguring - to still not get efficient and long-lasting control through the simplest of routines. I gained no energy efficiency nor comfortability, so far.
And I’ve made a point of only using compatible hardware according to the Smartthings list, and I’m pretty computer savvy.
Who thought that “hey radiator valve, please shut down, cause the window’s sensor tells me it’s open” would be an unsolvable issue.
That’s just sales-smart of Samsung, but unfortunately not very smart of me.
The future is nigh, my a…nother point would be:
Even if I managed to establish a routine that was stable for a while, I wouldn’t be able to sit back and relax, as it could become obsolete again at any time. And what a merry time of misrule that would cause…

Another point/question: Have you experienced a positive effect on switching your hub (i use the aeotec smartthings hub v3) to a certain channel. There seems to be a discussion in some threads…

I think you’re confused. The SmartThings driver for your device was provided by Aqara. If it doesn’t work as expected, blame Aqara, not SmartThings.

What about “rauchfrei” on hardware error?
I have “clear” or “detected” with “hardware problem”

Another bad translation…

Rauchfrei means smoke free or clear of smoke. Another word for rauchfrei is klar and klar in Englisch is clear. And alles klar means all good.

It can take months until it’s fixed…

But what is the error anyway?

My thermostat works great, also via ActionTiles.

Also translation for the word “open” is translated in dutch word “openen” which means “opening” should be open and gesloten.
But this “openen/öffnen” is on more places.
Would like a place where I can complain/correct.

Or should we open a post here about translation.
