The driver functions as expected, without any issues.
Regarding the device itself and the problems reported in various forums, it appears that many users do not realize it is not a traditional motion detector.
For instance, I recently read a post where a user experienced an issue with the presence sensor failing to detect a person standing behind another individual. Placing the sensor 1.4 meters above the ground was not optimal for accurate detection…
In another case, a user complained that the FP2 took too long to recognize when they had left the room. Turned out that the exit zone near the door was too small, not even covering the width of the doorway…
This device should be viewed more like a surveillance camera. Just as you wouldn’t place a camera in an unsuitable position, the FP2 should also be carefully positioned. Some users install it too low or too high without angling it properly towards the center of the room.
Forgot to mention: the FP2 reacts faster than my motion detectors! When I enter the bathroom (PIR) it takes a second until the light turns on. But when I enter a zone in our open living area, it’s instant.
I’m new to all this. Just wondering what the process is. Do I need to give the GitHub devs access to my device to get the FW from them in order for their driver to work? Will waiting a bit longer mean that Aqara will be releasing new FW or will the only option be via the GitHub process. Also, how do I contact the GitHub devs if I decide to give them access? Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the patience!
As I understand it correctly you have connected fp2 to aqara hub and then connected fp2 to ST? How did you connect the fp2 to the ST? Can you give more details?
