Aqara FP2 cannot be discovered in SmartThings (TV Hub and Mesh Network)

Hey Andreas - sad to say it did not work. The FP2 does not show up in available devices when Searching for Devices on the Android SmartThings app.

I uninstalled all pre-existing Aqara drivers on my hub and installed the driver from the URL.

I then removed the PF2 device and readded it to the Aqara Home App.

Went to SmartThings and tried searching for new devices but it did not show up.

Also, to confirm I have a V2 SmartThings hub. Your notes mentioned V3. V2 is compatible, correct? Trying to pin down possible issue points

Any other recommendations?

You have to reset the device after deleting and before onboarding: press the button on the FP2 for 15 seconds.

Do you know how to create a driver log with the SmartThings CLI?

Install this on your computer:

And execute it:

smartthings edge:drivers:logcat

Choose the driver, then try to add the device again through the SmartThings app.

Copy & paste the output here. (Would be nice if you’d put ``` before and after the log for readability.)

The development driver seems to be working for me now:

Do I just need to wait until a prod release is available and somehow change the driver used?

We know. You already said that a few hours ago…

As soon as the changes are merged into the production driver, I’ll give you a note. You’d have to delete the current driver, delete and add the device again in ST.

Hey Andreas,
Yes, I also pressed the FP2 for 15 seconds. I made sure that the notification light went out to confirm that it was reset.

Here is the output:

Let me know if this can be of any help!

I tried again with the unpair, reset, repair, SmartThings find to no avail.

Hope the above output helps!

You should select the Aqara driver in the CLI. See comment #2 in this thread.

Enter 1, then ENTER.

Ooops - sorry I missed that. I ran through logcat and have the following output.

I noticed that the Hub seems to be installing a second version of the Aqara driver. I had uninstalled the one not on driver channel pf2_search1717 but it seems to have come back this morning.

I went and uninstalled the non-PF2_search1717 driver and confirmed it with the following driver list output.

When I click 1 and select driver, I get a connected screen. I try adding the FP2 device via both β€œscan nearby” and specifically clicking Presence Sensor PF2 in search, but nothing happens and I get no output.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

That’s not good.

Login here:

https://my.smartthings.com/advanced/hubs

Select your hub, take screenshots from the summary, driver channels, installed drivers and post them here. Need them as a proof that you have the correct driver installed and a V2 hub.

Also, if you recently tried installing the device, submit your Hub logs and share the approximate timestamp (including your timezone) of the attempt with us to find the corresponding events there.

  1. In the Advanced Users app, enter the β€œHubs” section
  2. Enter the corresponding Hub and click on β€œDump Hub logs”
  3. Confirm the process by clicking on β€œDump Hub logs” again in the pop-up.
  4. You’ll get a green box at the top confirming the Hub logs were requested.

Thanks Andreas!

I have uploaded screens to my OneDrive: SmartThings

@nayelyz I have requested a dump hub logs.

Please let me know the next steps

Hi, @tryintoautomate
Thank you for sending the logs, the approximated timestamp is still pending, do you remember when you tried to add the device again? It was today Oct 25th, right?

I think I did it yesterday. I forget the exact time but def in the afternoon yesterday the 24th.

I tried again today this morning in the AM.

ok, I’ll see if this is enough information for the engineering team. If not, we might have to replicate the issue.

Awesome - thank you for the help

Hey @nayelyz - just curious - when can I expect an update?

Thanks!

Hi, @tryintoautomate
The engineering is still investigating this issue, as soon as they provide an update, I’ll let you know. There’s no specific timeframe for this.

ok thank you
