The issue of presence sensors working with varying degrees of reliability has been discussed ad nauseum in these forums. If you simply search for “presence sensor”, you find numerous posts on the subject. I can’t speak to an iPhone as I use an Android, but the general consensus is that users seem to have varying degrees of reliability even with the same operating system. I’d review some of the “presence sensor” threads.
