Alexa+ rollout starting in UK

It seems Alexa+ rollout starts today. From what I’ve heard from USA it breaks or at least “dis-improves” smart home integration. Given that’s my main use for Alexa I’d be reticent to be an early adopter. Also given that it’s conversational and most of my commands wouldn’t need a reply would I need to tell her goodbye after each request? Could be tedious.
Having said that most of my devices are 4th gen echo dots, so don’t imagine they will support it anyway.

Echo Dot 2nd Generation or newer are supported.

I haven’t had any issues since updating to Alexa+ on 5 elderly Echo Dots and one Echo 4th Gen. I use it for timers and to talk to SmartThings, not much else.

All my commands and routines work as before. The default voice changed and it continues to listen for a few seconds and carrying out a command. Other than that I’m not seeing much difference.

Ah, ok. I read elsewhere only 5th gen echo dots and later were supported..

This looks like the official word. Looks like all my Echo Dots are 2nd generation.
