Alexa recognizes SmartThings Siren as a Switch

Hey community,

I own three SmartThings SZ-SRN12N sirens (https://tinyurl.com/w7kowpz). They work like charm within SmartThings but I’ve got some trouble in combination with Alexa.

I organize my smart devices into rooms (groups) in Alexa.
I have my some light, sensors and the siren in my group “living room” for example. And this is the problem.
When I say “Alexa, turn the lights on in the living room”, Alexa does BUT she also turns on the siren because it’s recognized as a switch.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to let Alexa know that it’s a siren and not a switch. I don’t want to kick the siren out of the room.

Anybody?

Best
Tom

We have two groups for each room. One is the room itself, and the other is a “control group“ which includes the echo device in that room. Only devices that we put into the control group will turn on and off when we say “echo, turn the lights on.“

That could be a workaround.
Not my favorite solution but for now it makes sense.

Thanks. I will give it a try.
