Aeon Motion Sensor No Motion Battery Dead In 3 Days

I cannot get any motion events from my aeon motion gen 5. It also killed the battery in 3 days.

I have tried the standard device handler and the one on github.com.

Any advice?

I had one that did this. The best suggestion I had was to hard reset it and reconfigure it using battery only. It didn’t help. It behaved the same using all the device handlers. I finally contacted Aeon and they told me to return it. I returned it as defective to Amazon and got another. The replacement is still reporting 100% battery 10 weeks later.

I originally used RV’s DTH instead of the built-in one because it allows you to set the temp offset. I found my first Multisensor 6 to report 4 degrees F too high. I say “first” because I ended up returning it as defective; no matter what I did it would consume a set of batteries in 1-3 days. My second one seems to report the temperature spot on and is still reporting 100% battery after 5 days; thus, I am still using the default DTH with it. (I also used a slight modification to RV’s DTH to show a color gradient for indoor colors: see my post above)

These sensors are really faulty. I ordered two more and they would power up.

What has the experience been for everyone else?

Rubbish, empties the battery in no-time.
