Are there plans to integrate abode home security into SmartThings?

I suspect Abode themselves will not have any interest in doing this. This is probably down to the fact they have designed their product to act as a smart home hub in of itself, this is similar to a number of other smart alarm systems e.g. Ring.
Partly this is likely down to regarding Smartthings as competition and partly down to perceived security concerns. What is therefore a lot more likely is for someone to write a smart app for the Smartthings hub to talk to the Abode hub.
Note: You can use IFTTT already.
