5-2 Thermostat app not working correctly

Hello everyone. I was so excited to get my CT100 thermostat and then tried to find a normal 5-2 day program. Found RBoy apps and immediately purchased his apps. Installed it and for some reason every day I come home and it has not turned on the heat. I can check the thermostat and it is commanded to set temp at 69 which is what I told it to do but the furnace will not run until I refresh the app. Every other setting works (morning wake up, leave for work and night time. Any idea’s?

Paging @RBoy to see if he can help.

To confirm, the furnace WILL run if you refresh the app? So you can control it from the app? Just want to make sure controlling it does work before getting into the scheduling side of things.

One thing you can try is going into the IDE and forcing it to Update the scheduler.
Do this by logging into the IDE, going to My Locations, clicking on List SmartApps at the bottom, finding the 5-2Thermostat SmartApp and hitting the Update link. Test it tomorrow to see if it corrected.

That’s correct, if your timers are dying thats the most likely cause of it not working. However if your mode changes when you get home that will kick start the timer and should set the temp.
If that isn’t happening I suspect some other app may be interfering with the temp settings or that your thermostat is having trouble communcating with the hub

Ok guy’s, I will try that today and see what happens.
Thank you

It just baffles me as to why it will not turn on in the afternoon. I do not use modes because it seems to complicate things. It works perfectly for the other 3 times of the day. I did even try changing the time a few minutes to see if that would help. But I will try your suggestion this afternoon.

Well I forgot to check the phone at 3:02 but when I got home today it was warm in the house. I checked the log and it looks like it stated heating at 3:20 that is strange I wonder why it does not immediately react. Here is the log I copied.
Any ideas Rboy?

Quick point to catch someone’s attention in a post put a @ before their screen name otherwise they aren’t notified.

What temperature did you set it to and what’s your default operating mode? The app doesn’t change the operating mode just the temperature. This log isn’t showing much.

I would suggest you open the Live Logging in the IDE and then run a test and see what’s going on.

One suspicion, I’ve seen with others, the hub time timezone is wrong or time is wrong so it doesn’t match your local time.

According to your logs the app sent the command to set the heatpoint at 3:02PM, those 2 minutes are due to the ST platform timer delay. Something between your hub and thermostat I suspect
